Zamfara Governor, Dauda Lawal has banned all political gatherings and activities across the State.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Broadcast Media, Press and Public Affairs, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura.
The statement partly reads “this is to inform the Public for information and guidance, particularly politicians across all political divides in the state that owing to the precarious security situation in the state and with the recent security breach in Maru local government area of the state and in careful consideration of the fact the political season has not yet started everywhere in the country, the Executive Governor of the state Dr. Dauda Lawal has Banned all political activities or rallies in the state until further notice”.
According to the statement, the ban is with immediate effect, even as the security Agencies in the state have been directed to enforce strict compliance with the directive.
