The Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU, has directed all its chapters nationwide to commence a two-week warning strike from midnight on Monday, October 13, 2025, following the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government.
ASUU President, Prof. Chris Piwuna, announced this at an emergency press briefing in Abuja on Sunday.
He said the decision became necessary due to the government’s failure to address critical issues affecting the university system despite repeated engagements and assurances.
The ASUU president stressed that the Union could no longer bear endless appeals without tangible outcomes.
