Zamfara First Lady Bags Prestigious Islamic Award

Wife of Zamfara State Governor, Hurriyya Dauda Lawal has been honoured with the Khadimatul Islam and Grand Patron Award by the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations of Nigeria (FOMWAN), Zamfara State Chapter, during an event held at the Government House Conference Hall in Gusau.

Presenting the award, the outgoing Amira of FOMWAN, Amina Musa, expressed the association’s appreciation for Her Excellency’s continuous support to the activities of the Association.

She particularly emphasised their gratitude for the sponsorship of the FOMWAN 2025 Annual State Conference, which saw participation from women within and outside the state.

During the courtesy visit, Amina Musa showcased some of the items that were provided to women as part of the training during the Annual Conference aimed at promoting self-reliance. The items included Maggi, Maclean, deodorant, and others.

In her remarks, Huriyya Dauda Lawal affirmed her commitment to promoting the FOMWAN’s movement.

“My office, in collaboration with my husband’s office, is always ready to partner with Islamic organisations and other associations for the overall development of Zamfara State”, the Governor’s Wife said.

She thanked the attendees for their visit and made a special appeal for prayers for Allah’s intervention against the terrorists’ activities in Zamfara State.

Hajiya Huriyya also emphasised the need for mothers to encourage their children to acquire both Islamic and Western education.

A statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications Zamfara State Governor’s Wife Office, Zara’u Musa said during the visit, the former Amira of FOMWAN, Hajiya Hadiza Muhammad, introduced the newly appointed executive members of the association to the State First Lady.
