ZAMFARA STATE POLICE COMMAND
GETS NEW CP
The Zamfara State Police Command announces the assumption of duty of CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba as the 35th Commissioner of Police for Zamfara State Command .
He takes over from CP MD Shehu psc, who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) and redeployed to the Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU), Force Headquarters, Abuja.

CP Maikaba was born in nasarawa LGA of Kano state on 15 February,1968 he attends both primary and secondary schools in Kano state, he holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Economics, Bayero University, Kano
- CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba Joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1994 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)
CP Maikaba brings a wealth of experience, having served in multiple commands and strategic positions, including:
- Divisional Crime Officer (DCO),Daura Division, Katsina State
- Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in several divisions (Kafur, Dandume, Bunkure, Minjibir)
- Commander, Joint Border Patrol Team (Kebbi/Seme Axis)
- Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in various capacities:
- Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS)
- Zonal Criminal Investigation Department (ZCID), Kano
- Dc operation Delta State Police Command
- Commissioner of Police (CP) Admin, Research & Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja the – **Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police Command, Lagos
His exceptional track record in crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and inter-agency collaboration informed his posting to Zamfara State.
CP Maikaba is married and blessed with children.
